I don’t feel comfortable doing the incline bench press with a bar even with a spotter. I feel as if my shoulder is coming out of its socket. Any ideas

Combat Core Strength
No its not. But if you feel like your shoulder is slipping then avoid that movement. There are plenty of other ways to get strong in your shoulders. If I were you I’d replace those incline pushing exercises with pullups. I’d also do alot more pushups. A lot of times when people have issues with their shoulders from benching it has more to do with ther rear shoulders and lower traps. Pull ups where you pull the bar all the way to your chest, and pushups will help those areas.

Honest Truth About Abs
Good Question
You want to know why you feel bad performing incline bench?
The reason is because ALL incline bench presses are fixed at a bad angle!
If you want to work your shoulders, do shoulder press. For incline chest press you should have the angle at around 30 degrees.
Stick to dumbbells, and make sure you keep your shoulder blades retracted to use your the clavicular portion of your pecs, not your deltoids primarily.

machines will help, but nothing can be as effective as a bar because that causes your arms to work harder, your not looking for easier, your looking for more effective. go with the bar

An Ultra-brief & Ultra-intense Workout
that is a real problem, your shoulder might have an injury, like rotator cuff injuries. you can still do incline presses but you have to change the routine.
only do light-weight on incline bench, such as 75lbs to 125lbs but you have to rep out till it burns. do 20 counts if you can.
if this is still a problem do incline push ups. your shoulder will still hurt but you wont injure it.
if your shoulder does hurt very bad you may have to give yourself about two weeks of recovery. you will know your shoulder is better when you do dips on a dip bar and when you go down your shoulder wont strain or hurt.
if you do take off to let your shoulder heal make sure you stretch your shoulder every once in awhile and drink lots of fruit juice.
