300 pound bench press (Raw, strict form, flat back,)

Jerichosquink asked:

300 pound bench press (Raw, strict form, flat back) This was after 4 chest exercises, 4 forearm exercises, and 70 minutes of cardio on the elliptical machine. So this lift was not me at my freshest, if I would of gone for this first I may have gotten this weight up for explosive or maybe would of hit 305 pounds maybe, but who knows. I also haven’t done a flat back bench press 1 rep max (1RM) in about a year, I always max out with a arched back usually. But I do perform a good majority of my …

    Honest Truth About Abs

triceps definitely help, close grip bench presses, and weight dips help a bunch, i struggle the most at the bottom but once I push through that point i can lock it out usually.

Keep working hard and you will definitely be pushing 300.

Last time I went for max I got up to 290 but had to stop because it takes a lot of energy to push that up. So I dont know if I could do 300.

I heard if you work on your triceps that it can help with your bench press because it prevents your arms from locking up in the middle of a heavy bench press. Like at 0:58. I **** when that happens.

    Weightloss – A different approach

This lift was performed after a whole chest workout and 70 minutes of cardio, so it was not done fresh which was why it was probably shaky. This video is also a year old, i can hit 325 flat now, and 355 arched.

My goal is to hit 405 raw at a bodyweight of 220-198 pounds within the next year or two hopefully.

Major props on the 425 bench press, you should post a video of it sometime!

I arch and do flat back, just to switch things up, I normally do reps with a flat back, and max with an arch. I can do 325 flat now, and 355 arched, videos are up on my other account weightlifternerd.

nice bench.. Idk about flat back benching though, i used to do it but my friend who has bene lifting since highschool who is now 23 bench presses 430 maxout. an told me to always pull my shoulder blades together and arch the back, he said it isolates your pecs, an wheni do those 2 things i feel like i control the bar much better then flat back benching, but i ne ver go to crazy with the arch just a little arch.

thank you! there are people who just won’t shut up about my stomach who cares?

this video is a bench press not a abb video, I am not even really trying to lose weight, you don’t have to have abbs to be strong, most heavy weight powerlifters have huge guts yet nobody seems to rag on them for it.

Also i usually just block haters, why should i have to put up with them?

There usually young kids that hide behind there computer screens anyways I bet they would never have the guts to say what they say to people’s faces, I honestly don’t waste my time with those type of people, I will probably never meet them in real life anyways, I block and get back to my weight training.

    Firm & Flatten Your Abs

if i could I trim my stomach any faster i would, also abbs is more cardio work, and reducing bodyfat more then abb exercises, losing weight is not easy for me, but if I could do it any faster believe me I would.

Well your first comment “another strong fat kid” i thought was an insult so my mistake I suppose, I was benching about 300 when I weighed 165, 245 is not that bad though nice work! I was a former cross country and track athlete back in my high school days, but was more sprinter then long distance as I had a more explosive build vs long distance build.

I do want to lose weight and get cut again, but right now I want to focus more on being strong for a while and focus on getting cut later.

Dude I’m not joking when I say congrats by the way. I weigh 160 and can only max 245 for one rep but I run about 30 miles a week so I’m cut. I’d be lucky to ever bench 300 keep up the good work.

Believe it or not I actually once was pretty buff, I even have videos on my other account weightlifternerd, I had even had abbs as well.

    Strip That Fat

Actually I do have some muscles, I would say I have fair definition on my arms, legs, upper back, chest, my only weak area which is commonly weak for just about all average people and weightlifters is the stomach, I do intend to try to lose weight at some point though and have been doing cardio more lately, but losing weight for me is not an easy task, I am a guy who likes to eat a lot, but I am hoping to get down to 200 pounds in the upcoming months hopefully.

I think it’s awesome that you’re strong. I guess having a well balanced physique doesn’t appeal to you. Keep lifting though it’s a shame you can’t see the muscles under the lard.

Most of the world class powerfliters are fat and over 300 pounds, so get use to it, I am only about 220 in this video, and now can bench 1.5 times over my bodyweight benching 355 now.
