    Anyone can take their elbows lower. I’ve NEVER trained anyone who was not able to take their elbows all the way down. Biomechanically, this does not cause any undue stress on the shoulder or chest and will not lead to injury.

    You dont put your feet up on a bench because it distorts the natural curve of the lumbar spine, which add stress and prevent the body from naturally stabilizing itself.

    1) The reason that she can’t take the dumbbells any lower is because her elbows are way out to the sides at the bottom – if you ever did the exercise you would know that. Her form may cause shoulder problems down the road.
    2) The feet don’t really matter either way – she probably thinks she is isolating the chest more that way
    3) Yes, I agree that she is over-training.

    1) In dumbbell bp, you should lower the dumbbells all the way down. Thats the entire advantage of this exercise. You seem to be purposely limiting your ROM.
    2) NEVER put your feet up on a bench like that!!
    3) 4 sets of db bp, 1 set of cable cross, and 2 sets of push ups? You’re definitely overtraining. Also, the Law of Least Effort dictates that the body will adapt better to fewer exercises.

    What’s wrong with that question? Its impossible to tell what her goals are from looking at only one workout. She may be planning on bodybuilding, powerlifting, or any number of other sports. Maybe you dont get it.
