Yes obviously just injecting steroids isn’t going to make you become an elite lifter, that’s an obvious and idiotic thing to say. But injecting steroids as you train requires far fewer years of hard work than without drugs. It’s far more difficult to overtrain on steroids than drug free and you respond to training with far more growth. To get where Ed got without steroids would be just about impossible.

…its never synthetic nads in a syringe that get people ANYWHERE, its not that easy..

still requires years and years of HARD WORK..

    Honest Truth About Abs

I agree… eating, training, sleeping are “natural” things we do. Eating and sleeping are required to live. Training to be strong.

A gassed lifter vs. a gassed lifter isn’t necessarily a level playing field though as some lifter get more benefits from drugs than others.

What I really **** is people hiding behind this stuff, denying use and pretending to be something they are not. Then they are idol worshiped. Why couldn’t Ed just be Ed and kick *** without the drugs?

Uhh? What’s your point? Some guys get better benefit from eating, training, and sleeping too. That’s not something anyone can control. You can control what you inject or put into your body, you can’t control the effects it has on you.

I mostly agree. However, what if some guys get more benefit from drugs than others?

Uh re-read my statement. Did I suggest that he ISN’T a steroid user??? I said that despite the fact that he used steroids, there’s still something to be said for his achievements because he beat all the OTHER steroid users out there and did it at a much lower bodyweight. With that said, I think using steroids in a drug tested competition is dishonorable and cheating because you’re not following the rules of the competition.

ludi, you know that eddie has used right? he’s admitted it in the past.

  11. Ludichris8531 Says:

I agree, but there’s still something to be said about a guy who beats all of the other steroids users, even the ones that are about 100 pounds heavier than he is. Regardless, I think steroids users are guys who have lost faith in the ability of their own balls to produce what they need to build muscle. I might only be benching in the 400s, but at the end of the day, it’s MY balls that got me there, not synthetic nads in a syringe.

    Great video!

Ed gave me some important elements to my training program that I evolved & still use today.

I am an expert in drug free elite training & competed 100% drug free all my life while winning many national titles & records & 3rd @ World’s.

However, I love Ed Coan & don’t care what he may or may not have done. He is the best of all time! He BLEW away SHW’s doing TONS of drugs and routinely won nationals & Worlds by 500lb margins!

    Go Ed! Respect!

Strongest powerlifter ever! 555×2 is insane for a 220lb lifter, and the bench is his worst lift..I believe the raw world record at 220 in the bench is 600,Ed could have come close to breaking that..Ed squatted over 950 and deadlifted 900 as a 220,wow!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I lived with him and babysat his kids when I was a teenager. He never had any form of steroids around at all. One time he didn’t train for 7 months because of a pec tear and deadlifted 769 without a belt. The man is just a freak. He barely trains anymore and he is still huge. When guys get off roids they shrink so how do you explain him still weighing 275 just like he did 15 years ago?

Many run from the ADFPA! (USAPL). Of course there are some that beat the system, but overall, you don’t see APF like numbers for a REASON. We all know Coan’s test results…I’ve never been and never will be impressed by “assisted” numbers.

you seriously think bull stewart wasnt on juice? thats naive

  24. kingwillie206 Says:

    Combat Core Strength

It was the ADFPA he ran from. Back then the worlds strongest drug free man was Andrew “Bull” Stewart and Coan wanted nothing to do with him. Stewart still has the all time deadlift record and he was 242 lbs. His total was 2149 @ 242 lbs. Coan was on juice so he didn’t qualify for the ADFPA look it up.
